At NeuroNet, Heidi bridges this gap by offering specialist guidance rooted in over 15 years of dedicated educational and therapeutic experience. As an Educational Specialist, certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner, and highly experienced Resource Teacher: Learning and Behaviour (RTLB), Heidi has spent her career championing neurodivergent students and their whānau across New Zealand.
Heidi’s extensive academic background establishes an immediate foundation of trust. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Specialist Education and a Graduate Diploma in Primary Teaching. Furthering her commitment to holistic care, her Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Guidance Studies) includes specialized training in counselling theory, family and couples counselling, and managing complex learning and behavioural difficulties. This potent combination of educational mastery and psychological insight ensures that the strategies she provides are not only practical but also deeply empathetic.
What sets Heidi apart is her integrative, neuro-affirming, and trauma-informed approach. Rather than utilizing rigid, one-size-fits-all programming, she seamlessly blends elements of Person-Centred therapy, Narrative Therapy and ACT. Her practice is fundamentally anchored in evidence-based models like Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) and Triple P (Positive Parenting). Furthermore, Heidi operates on the core belief that a child must feel safe and connected before they can truly learn and thrive.
